TODAY: Go Tell Rep. Diane Black to Stop Blocking Middle Class Tax Cuts
Tennesseans from Rep. Diane Black’s district who are concerned about the looming “fiscal cliff” will rally at her Murfreesboro office today to demand that she sign the discharge petition, which would allow Congress to take an immediate up or down vote on tax cuts for those that most need them – the middle-class. Rep. Black’s constituents will meet, form a line, and deliver letters to her asking her to sign the discharge petition and put the middle class over millionaires.
Retired from the Federal Aviation Administration, Colleen Janus will join the rally today because she is concerned about the financial impact on her life if Congress doesn’t act. She said she has also joined www.theaction.org and encouraged others to do so also, saying “Concerned citizens from every county in our district will meet, form a line, and deliver letters to Diane Black asking her to sign the Discharge Petition to put the middle class over millionaires.”
The Discharge Petition is a request that the House of Representatives take an immediate vote on a bill signed by the Senate which is now stuck in committee in the House.
JOIN THE RALLY!
WHEN: Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at 4:00 – 5:00 PM CT
WHERE: 305 W. Main Street, Murfreesboro, TN 37130
WHY: If Congressman Black and the House of Representatives do not take action before the New Year then taxes on the middle-class will rise, more money will be withheld from every paycheck and the average Tennessee family – already hard-pinched in the current economic crisis – will pay more than $2000 additional taxes.
If you can’t make it, please call Rep. Black at 615-896-1986 and let her know that you want her to sign the discharge petition!
