FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Nashville, Tenn. (September 15, 2014) – Tennessee Citizen Action has received a grant from the New Venture Fund (NVF) and the Women’s Equality Center to implement a statewide ‘Get Out the Vote’ (GOTV) program. The goals of the GOTV program are to increase voter turnout among infrequent voters, increase cooperation with other Tennessee organizations, and build a framework and model for future Civic Engagement work.
“We are very pleased to continue our Civic Engagement work, which is such a core part of our mission,” said Matt Mullen, executive director of Tennessee Citizen Action, “By engaging more people in the democratic process between now and the November election, TNCA will position itself as the premier civic engagement organization throughout the state this year. Increasing turnout and attention to civic engagement statewide should attract new opportunities and funding for all organizations involved.”
