What About Bob (and Lamar!)?
This week, 33 U.S. Senators sent a letter to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) encouraging them to adopt strong rules to rein-in the predatory practices of payday lenders.
Here’s the list of the 33 Senators who have signed so far:
Baldwin, Blumenthal, Booker, Boxer, Brown, Cantwell, Cardin, Coons, Durbin, Feinstein, Franken, Gillibrand, Heinrich, Hirono, Kaine, King, Klobuchar, Leahy, Markey, Merkley, Murphy, Murray, Peters, Reed, Sanders, Schatz, Schumer, Shaheen, Stabenow, Udall, Warren, Whitehouse and Wyden
That’s right… no Senator Bob Corker. No Senator Lamar Alexander.
Now, it’s time our U.S. Senators heard from us! While they didn’t sign the letter this week, there’s still time to ask them to support a strong CFPB rule that would protect consumers from legalized loan sharks.
Ask them to support the CFPB in its efforts to rein-in payday lending with strong rules that will prevent abuse and stop the consumer debt trap.

And remember, we count on your support to win the fight against payday lending loan sharks in Tennessee. Your contribution of $5 or $10 today will help keep the Loan Shark Ledger coming and keep the fight against legalized loan sharking alive.
