A Look at the Legislature
My op-ed from today’s Tennessean on what the General Assembly accomplished (it’s not pretty) in 2016:
We’ve come to understand that our state’s residents generally are safer when our General Assembly is not assembled. Things have become so laugh-to-keep-from-crying bad on Capitol Hill, it’s hard to pick just one “worst” bill of the year when it comes to Tennessee consumers and workers. So, instead, Tennessee Citizen Action has identified a quartet of shameful legislative achievements from the recently (and blessedly) concluded session.
In it, I talk about healthcare, fair housing, local hire, and counseling. Give it a look!
