Our friends at Moral Movement Tennessee have started a petition demanding Senator Alexander hold a Town Hall on health care with his constituents.

Here’s more:

For many Tennesseans, requests to meet with their Senators about issues important to them have been met with basic form letters, or no response at all.

The people of Tennessee deserve responses from those they elected to represent them in the United States Senate. We ask that Senator Alexander schedule an in person Town Hall meeting, where he can meet with and hear from the people of Tennessee so that they may voice their concerns and ask the questions for which they have been waiting responses.

Our colleagues at Volunteer Voices for Action (an organizing group for Tennesseans by Tennesseans whose aim is to elevate the voices of folks back home by taking their concerns, fears, and questions directly to our members of Congress) will be hand delivering this petition to Senator Alexander next week. Read more about Volunteer Voices for Action.

As the Chairman of the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions committee, it is imperative that Senator Alexander make time to hear from his constituents. According to research by the Tennessee Justice Center, the AHCA as it stands, would leave over half a million Tennesseans uninsured. It would substantially increase premiums and out-of-pocket costs, especially for older Tennesseans, and would permanently disadvantage Tennessee’s Medicaid program, known as TennCare, relative to other states. The AHCA threatens the viability of many rural hospitals in the state, and will further destabilize Tennessee’s health insurance Marketplace.

If you have already signed the petition, THANK YOU! If you haven’t please submit your responses by Monday, June 12, 2017, to be included in the delivery, and share widely!

Just wanted to say that I have offered up the UAW hall to Senator Alexander and Corker when ever they want it. I have hand carried, faxed and called. With no response other than a form letter saying they appreciate my willingness to contact them.
